RRAP stands for the ability to be “relentlessly resourceful and pessimistically persistent.”

Being relentlessly resourceful means consistently finding creative and practical solutions to problems, regardless of available resources. It involves approaching challenges with a can-do attitude and a willingness to explore unconventional options. Relentlessly resourceful individuals persist in pursuing solutions and can overcome setbacks or obstacles. They always look for new ways to overcome challenges and constantly adapt their approach to achieve their goals.

Being pessimistically persistent means that as you are relentlessly resourceful, you also question assumptions, taking nothing for granted. We encourage all colleagues to trust data over promises and anecdotes alone and to research and validate feedback before acting. Being pessimistically persistent involves following up with stakeholders such as team members, clients, and investors, even if their commitments seem uncertain, and always being prepared for unexpected challenges and setbacks. It also means persistently pursuing solutions to problems and continuously adapting our approach based on data and feedback.

This question represents our investment thesis and how we build competitive defensibility. At the heart of JoyFX is the science of the emotion joy, which we define as the relational effect experienced when all network stakeholders, including employees, customers, and shareholders, are intrinsically motivated to create value with each other in times of strength collaboratively, but especially weakness. Joy is not just about celebrating victories together; it also involves being courageously vulnerable and authentic with each other when things are going in the opposite direction. We believe that JoyFX is an inside-out strategy that starts with the core leadership of any organization. JoyFX creates a culture where people feel motivated to collaborate, take risks, and contribute their best work while experiencing emotional fulfillment.

We recognize that cultivating JoyFX takes time and effort. That's why we invest by looking for the potential versus perfection of an organization and working with all stakeholders to foster a culture of joy.
